Football or no, I think Bennett will be fine.
For possibly dysfunctional (for want of a better word) reasons, he's shown that he can be an overcomer - a high achiever. He has that within himself. Going forward, for the right reasons, what can he achieve?
If he makes it back at all (and it seems he's on that path) he will be stronger, better able to pull others through their hardships, his life being a living example of of the courage and deep-down willpower that is required. He'll be an encourger of the best sort - a guy who can look a struggling teammate in the eye and say, "You can do it!" They'll believe him and if they can, they'll step up - because they know he really mean it and he's been there.
I wouldn't worry at all about his dragging his teammates down. If he makes it to camp, it will be quite the opposite.
Whether he fits the Rams plans in the future will be an objective coaching and business decision. Whether he chooses to remain in football at all or walk away will be Bennett's own personal decision - and my strong hunch is that his story will be one of more than a comeback.
