I know he was a pretty good QB for a few years after he was drafted. But why was he still on his couch last year?
I will always love him for leading the defeat of the 49ers last season. But that game - didn't he run more than he threw? For that game, he did what he needed to do to win. But if the running is what makes him good - well - we saw that he won't last more than a few games doing that.
Can he run our offense? How is his arm and decision making? Do we know?
I just feel like we are judging him based on a very small sample size, with a gameplan that was atypical.
Don't get me wrong - he has to be better than Rypien or those bums we had before. But not sure how much.
On the other hand - could he be a reclamation project that just needs the right scheme and coaching to live up to his #2 overall pick status. Is he a Geno?
Lots of questions...no answers.
