It's so interesting the world we live in and how people are picking this kid apart on rumor and 1/2 truths.
No sooner media puts someone on a pedestal people want to see him fall.
I've watched pretty much every game he's played and the facts are this kid is such an incredible talent that it's almost worked to his detriment
He's been anointed the #1 pick pretty much since arriving at USC from Norman ...and I guess that rubs some people wrong.... so let's find the chink in his armor ...."He's a Diva" I don't know draw your own conclusion ? This much I know a lot of folks on this board including me that grew up watching football in the 70s and 80s some much longer than that, see that era those players as the good old days, you know why takes you back to a time in life when you were young and guess what now you're old ... that era is long gone plenty of flamboyant guys today ... Caleb is mild in comparison to many.
Media is different now as well dying for a story some dirt to make things interesting ... ya know why because it's boring to just say This guy is the best he's the #1 pick based on what anyone can see with two eyes.
So breakdown his demands what exactly are those ? What have you heard him say on camera for the record and not something you read on an internet article getting click bait
I saw him say with my own eyes and heard with my ears he'd be happy to play for Bears or any one that drafts him
Now I heard "rumor" he doesn't want Bears and he'd demand this or that
I heard "rumor" he or dad want him to have part ownership in team that drafts him... who knows I've never seen him get in front of camera and say that ....
It's always "people close to the Williams family say"
And let's examine if hypothetically that were true .... well hey I think that's out of line ?Groundbreaking even ? But anybody see the movie "Air" Michael Jordan's mom made some pretty incredible demands for her son to Nike before he ever laced em up professionally ...groundbreaking stuff now what she demanded is looked upon positively as visionary and so far ahead of the curb, at the time pretty sure it was unreasonable
Point is the needle is always going to be moving .... do you or I agree with it maybe not but things are always changing and perhaps Caleb's dad wanted to test his power walk right up to the line see what his sons value really is.
Anyhow will Caleb be Michael Jordan in cleats ...Probably not? Will he be the next Patrick Mahomes maybe but again probably not ?
I can't guarantee the kid will be great so many variables go into it ... and yes anyone can bust . My eyes and my brain tell me he's special, I could be wrong been that many times in this life .
But let's be fair and let the guy play ball for a couple years before labeling him a villain and for what ? Jumping in his moms arm sharing some tears after an emotional loss... that was way overblown and imo all from a place of love,also btw people freaked out about him painting nails well that's what his mom does for a living it's a connection and a bond between the two .... seems wild that was an issue for people.
I look forward to seeing how he plays out ... just feel he's gotten a bad rap here and other places.
Make no mistake he will be selected #1 he's coming
and I'll be rooting for him on Sundays he's not playing the Rams
