The problem with that: starting LTs don't sign second contracts for 6 or 7 million dollars a year. That's the deal that guys tend to make the big bucks
There are currently 18 LTs making more than $9.667M and the median pay for those guys is $17M a year. And every LT below that number is either on his 3rd contract, on a rookie deal, or a backup.
After those 18 LTs are :
Ikem Ekwonu (on his rookie deal)
Andrus Peat (on his 3rd deal)
Chares Cross (on his rookie deal)
Patrick Mekari (backup)
Jedrick Wills (on his rookie deal)
Rashawn Slater (on his rookie deal)
Broderick Jones (on his rookie deal)
Trevor Penning (on his rookie deal)
<I stopped looking after the 26th highest paid LT. But I don't think there's a starting LT on his second deal making less than $3.5M a year ...>
Point is: there is not a LT in the league on his second contract making less than $9.667M a year. If Jackson signs for 3 years it will likely be for more than $30M and quite possibly be for more than $40M.
Remarkably, Joe Noteboom is the 16th highest paid LT in the league with a 3 year, $40M deal (which averages $13.333M a year)
