Did Eric Weddle just say "the reality is he's a system quarterback"? and add that he's (Purdy) limited in his ability to throw to the sidelines, especially deep?
And did Weddle say that Shanahan "got in the way by putting too much in Purdy's hands" instead of relying on the run?
He didn't even touch on problems with feet/redirection when the first read is not open, nor that the niners rarely audible to better plays.
And he didn't touch on Deebo's trouble with man coverage, etc. that Spags defense brought out for all to see.
Eric Weddle is pretty bright when it comes to football.
I think I will listen when he talks about Purdy's/niner's limitations.
Spags showed everyone way(s) to limit the niners.
We will see if teams play more aggressive on defense vs. the niners next year instead of
laying back and allowing them to dictate/run their desired plays at their desired tempo.
As some have said on this board,
there is no need to fear Purdy/the niners.Unless they sign Cousins or pull off something similar, they are beatable.
