I’d like to rewatch how Mike McDonald schemed when the Niners played the Ravens and how Jeff Schwartz schemed them when the Browns played them.
McDonald will change the dynamic, IMO, because now his Seahawks will play them 2x per season.
Shanahan has been getting away with a complimentary pass game to his run game. He doesn’t match up with any of the top pass teams and teams just pretend like he does and play him like they’re playing the Rams, Bengals, or Vikings.
The Niners have taken advantage of teams playing them honest and then the Niners front run with the run game and complimentary passing game to go up a couple of scores and then force teams to play catch up.
If Purdy is so joined at the hip with Shanahan that he can’t audible at the line, then teams are going to want to exploit that.
