Ramkind
It was kind of the same with Allen Robinson. You weren't quite sure what you were gonna get, because of how he was used in the Bears offense. I thought he would come to the Rams and flourish once he left Chicago, but it was kind of the opposite. Not sure what to think of Mooney, but he has definitely shown flashes.
I think that McVay has a need for two types of WR's in his offense: 1) route-runners who can get in and out of their breaks quickly; and, 2) WR's who can stretch the field to allow the route-runners to operate in the intermediate. Both types have to be able to block in the run game.
Though Allen Robinson had a few qualities that I like in a WR (e.g. size, good hands, and red zone capabilities), I don't think that McVay really took the time to figure out how to exploit them. IMO, AR was a "panic buy" the team invested in once it lost out on Von Miller. By Week 2 or 3, I'm pretty sure McVay realized they'd made a mistake in trading Robert Woods for peanuts.
Van Jefferson should've been that 2nd/3rd guy, but he wasn't.
Just wondering if Mooney might be that guy on a reasonable deal.
