I understand he had only been around awhile. But, for Pete's Sake, the guy had been around for several games, sat in all the meetings, had the playbook for several weeks...and he was a seasoned vet.

So, while he did help to win that San Fran game, I have no idea how McVay/Snead see Wentz as concerns next season.
It is my hope that they will agree that they MUST spend a little more on the back-up QB position and get a responsible adult instead of a young late round pick. There will be several aging, former starter quality QBs to pursue. It's just which one best fits, and which one can they get to fit their budget.

Good point RR the thing for me with Wentz is this he may not be Rams starter QB of the future material but what that Niner game showed me was he brings something different than Stafford to the mix, I could see him as a weapon on the team with a healthy Stafford. He could be a more accomplished and probably more expensive Taysom Hill. He could be put in, for Wildcat or redzone situations so he could add value not just as a backup qb but in practically every game. He would truly be a run/pass option because he can throw at an above average level but is also a threat to run the ball. I can easily see a package for him that sees him on the field for 7-12 snaps a game. It will offset some the price of keeping a more pricey backup qb. Wentz gets more shine and Rams get a weapon if only for a year.
