And it dates back to Newsome deciding that he would take the best talent even if that position group was in good shape. I heard him do several interviews on the radio in Cleveland during Browns Week with a sports talk guy he had known for many, many years. They had a great relationship and the guy was really one of the rare ones that knew how to conduct an interview. Just a natural at it.
His philosophy was (paraphrasing here) that the best players even if they were playing a position of strength for the team he felt that building and improving positions and groups of strength was a better move than drafting a decent player for a position of need.
So yeah I'm with you. The Ravens bloodline works for me because there is talent on the roster.
