My respects, Illini, for your years of sobriety, and the growth and perseverance in recovery that have obviously made you stronger. I have friends and family members with stories such as yours - and others who, despite the best rehab program effort and support of family and friends, didn't do as well.
Thanks for echoing my statement that alcohol rehab usually ooesn't take this long, but as we know - recovery is lifelong. It's a process, not an event.
Like you, I suspect that deeper-seated issues are at the base of Stetson's difficulties, and may take longer to root out and remediate.
Whatever the young man's situation might be, I wish him well.
