I understand the reaction. I have it too. I don't recall growing up in the 50s that type of demonstrative conduct- so when I see it I cringe. OTOH I've also come to realize that times are different today. In 2019 70% of NFL players were African American. Today its likely even higher. There is a very rich African American culture in demonstrative behavior. I see it in their art, music, speeches, sports. What you described as "look at me" is no different than an expression physically demonstrated. In my mind it's like I'm so excited I did this thing I need to show it. No different than Tutu flipping over into the endzone the other day. Or 99 thumping his chest after a sack. But we never complain because it's "our" player. Ramsey was in everyone's face after a good play. Again, demonstrating his emotion. I don't think there is anything wrong with "look at me" behavior. We like to be "seen". Reason why we drive noticeable cars, wear sharp clothes, wear our Rams gear, we simply like to be noticed. The African American culture has all that and has it in all their cultural manifistations.

But you and I are at an age where we frown and look at it with disdain. Just remember sports is "entertainment". And demonstrative behavior is part of the entertainment. Now whether the incident your referring to had anything to do with "look at me and how I injured another player"-well that's an entirely different issue and not one I'm addressing here.
