He's too damned ignorant to understand what an orthopedist would tell him and and too damned bent on doing what he's doing to care.
There is a defenseless player/reeceiver rule that the officials might think of flagging here, especially if the recipient of the hit is taken out of the game, don't you suppose? And where, under the equivocal garbage-mouthing that followed, is the intent of that rule?
The league has lost its bearings.
Let me tell you about another league:
I used to play in a winter men's basketball league in logging country, where he loggers, catskinners, lumbermill workers and truck drivers came out of the woods and had the run of the local high school gym on Saturday nights. We'd officiate their own games. It was a rough-and-tumble league; no fun if you couldn't take it, and you had to dish out enough on your own to earn respect. Our guiding principle seemed to be "No injury, no foul." Elbows flew at rebounds. A cut lip or bloody nose got you two free throws. We never had to deal with flat-out dirty play.
It was certainly less sophisticated than Joseph's NFL, but in its primitive way, more civilized.
Joseph, in that league, would have to man up and play rough, sure, but deliberately taking somebody out would result in some bigger, stronger and rougher men on the other side leaving him in worse shape - fast - and nobody on his side coming to his defense.
I imagine Joseph will continue to hide behind his faux innocence and deliberately take cheap shots that wreck knees for the rest of his career.
