Goff played pretty darn well for the Rams, even taking us to a Superbowl.
He's playing well with the Lions, leading them to a division title for the first time in 30 years.
Wentz? Up and down.
Other than for Dak Prescott later in the draft, no other QBs in the 2016 draft have distinguished themselves.
All you can do is draft what is there. And you can't know the real outcome until at least 3 years have passed, and sometimes more.
Snead made the right choice in drafting Goff over Wentz or any other QB for that matter.
Picking Goff over Wentz was the right decision. Giving Goff a big contract a year early when you could have franchised him was a bad decision though I put that mostly on McVay who had to go all in for that contract. We had to over pay for Safford as a result.
You nailed it, Mr. Deacon.
This issue, like most, isn't as black and white as presented. Goff played a great NFC Championship Game that we needed help in winning, and then played a pretty lousy Super Bowl. He wasn't worth the money we gave him, and as much as we made the right move in drafting him, we also made the right choice in moving on from him.
Goff's a great kid, but I'll be rooting for the Rams if we meet them in the playoffs.
