There is no denying what Stefanski has done this year. It's been pretty amazing. Same goes for Steichen. But it's only been for a short while. Nobody knows if they can sustain that momentum or not.
Having said that, both of those guys haven't done this consistently year after year like McVay has. It's easy to want to grab onto that shiny new toy, but that toy hasn't really been tested for the long haul and might break easier than the one that consistently performs above expectations year after year.
IMO, McVay has proven he is not a "flash in the pan". He is a proven winner. He's not perfect but I have never seen a HC who was. We are very lucky to have him as our HC, warts and all.
I hope he is our HC for the next 10 years or more!
Exactly right. Take a look at the 2018 in the 2021 rosters that both ended up in the Super Bowl. They are totally different teams and the next one will be even more different.
