Ugh, I'm not sure most people understand why the second TE position is so difficult to fill and vital to the offense that he blocks well. Most fans see a couple good catches and want to celebrate while the most important elements are rarely seen or evaluated. As an example, Gerald Everett made several highlight reel catches but couldn't execute his assignments properly and is therefore no longer here.
Please listen after the game to Sean's comments. He was very happy about Allen's ability and catches, but it indicated there were things to clean up and I got the feeling there were several important plays he wasn't going to disclose.
He may turn out to be a fine player. I just need to see more than great catches
