Even Higs, who is widely considered a good all around TE, is hit and miss in his blocking, especially crackback type blocks and when he is on the move where he misses plenty.
I don't crunch film and all that but I didn't notice Allen even one time whiffing on a block. Felt like he was doing the job there. And his hands are excellent, it's just a shame he had that drop. But that catch he made up high over the middle and behind him was not easy, he just made it look easy. There are TEs we've had around here who probably don't make that catch, like Everett for example.
Right now I'm thinking Allen looks like a good starter. Which for his draft position is a real good job by our scouting dept.
