The best part of the this commentary is the segment on Higbee
It's a real situation.
He's a bit of mess right now. At points, a hot mess.
Agree with the critique. He's banged up. WTH, the entire NFL is banged up right now.
He's been the Rams best TE, EVER.
But, at the moment, he's a second stringer. This isn't a minor issue.
You can't really put your banged up QB out there, and not get some real assistance from your TE.
You can't really expect with the lack luster showing from the OL to make gaps for the RBs and have your TE a "no show."
While the season has already come undone. there's a mammoth amount of football yet to be played. If Higs is unable to show up tomorrow, it signals that Snead needs to help the roster, or coach, to find someone who can take on the role at higher level of play
The Higbee situation is one of my biggest McVay question marks right now. Higgs was a dependable TE, but it gets tiring to use this to counterpoint his current level of play. His blocking has been horrible, the drops have been at critical plays, and he's just not helping this team. Again, what I question the most is why we aren't developing a squad at TE. We'll see if Hunter can step up this week. I saw enough of Davis to know he can play football. It's just McVays seeming reluctance to ever put anyone other than Higbee on the field. And you can't tell me that what he's putting out ther on the field is keeping these guys on the bench. The backup plan at certain positions has been non existent, and if you think that's alarmist, please chime in.
