Great idea... all that takes is time for the play to develop...
... and all that takes is time in the pocket for the QB to fake to a RB is P/A or something like that, fake a screen maybe, or stand there like a statue like Ton Brady for 5 to 7 seconds...
... and all that takes is protection...
... and... you know the rest.
So unless we're getting solid protection that won't get our QB squished on previous plays out of the same or similar formations, maybe scrap the idea of lots of deep throws to Tutu every game.
Drag routes after the middle has been cleared might give him a chance to break away, except he lacks the jukes of a Tyreek Hill, who is fas and has jukes to match. He might do it sometimes, though.
To my eye (on limited views, granted) Tutu is doing a better job of getting off the line and with ball security - and he's showing real courage when getting hit.
That said, he's still a work in progress and n doesn't yet have the tools to shake free once the ball is in his hands. He's still a work in progress, and acknowledging that progress, he's not as good yet as some of us think.
But I'm pulling for him.
