My thinking is that he knows the basic scheme, he wouldn't need to cram the playbook. His arm is no worse than what we got. I still think he has more "it" than what we got now. He would be a game manager which I think he can handle....Heavy on the run, passes no farther then a mid range crossing pattern.....Rypien stinks, he's shows no pocket or huddle presence either.
Rather have a Wentz or similar, but really this is in the RAMS lap..they should have looked much harder than just picking up Rypien, IMO they picked him up, rather than actually doing work and getting a viable backup. They were lazy, Sean was lazy, FO was lazy.....
