The guy's in a slump, yes. Was in 2021 as well. Some awful throws then and now. As some have reminded us - he's streaky. This is who he is. McVay and Snead knew it - but they made him our ride or die. And it worked. Who's to say it can't still work? Later this year, all of next year. He's not 40. He has a few good years left. He hurt his thumb. Happens to a lot of QB's, especially those that don't throw from a clean pocket. Cousins and Rogers tore their Achilles. I'll take a sore thumb.
So, if we 'unload him' who's our QB? Oh right - it's going to work out perfectly and we're going to get Caleb Williams and he's going to be great right away and it's going to be a Hallmark Movie and love all around. Well the best laid plans of mice and men as they say. What if we don't draft in the top 10. What if the price of moving means we can't build a team around said wonderkind?
