Careful. Questioning Coach here can get you put in the box... Some feel questioning the obvious means you want to run him out of town.
I've seen this for awhile, and have attributed it to maturity and hoped it would change as he got older. I don't know if he will ever cross the Rubicon and give his OC more latitude, much less turn over playcalling. I personally don't think it will ever happen, but we'll see. We are all sometimes our own worst enemies, and I see that in him.
Kendrick is a major problem, but he's not the only one. I've thought several times this season that we were more lucky than good in the secondary, and that seems to be bearing out. Changing him out might help, but I don't think by much. Although one less pass interference call at the 1 sure wouldn't hurt us, he's played decent at times when he's not screwing up. Unfortunately, I think the Staff is behind him and they want to continue developing him.
Like it or not, I'm pretty confident that this team is what we're rolling with. There won't be an add tomorrow, and I think McVay is happy with what he's fielding, no matter how we feel about it. And truth be told, this team could very well be 5-2 and tied for the Divisional lead. It's insane, from what I thought just a few months ago. Considering that, aside from the few things that tork me, I'm happy to sit back and watch the season play out. We're in a lot better position than we thought, playoffs are still incredibly within reach, and the future looks good. I'm OK with that.
