Gotta believe they had high hopes Bennett could be that guy. AND... he still may be. We don't know the situation right now... but say it is alcoholism, that's treatable. Of course we don't know how the Ram's feel about Bennett at this moment in time but it could be that they still have high hopes, and rather than waste assets to bring in a temporary placement they're willing to bide their time.
Not saying I know that.. or even think it most likely... but I do think it's a legitimate opinion.
I hated the Bennett pick....wasted pick for a marginal player with low upside and physical limitations at QB. Not to mention he might have mental issues. Tyson Bagent wore horns in college and played in the senior bowl....where Les Snead hangs out every year....why didn't he see a QB wearing Rams horn in the senior bowl and drafted him in the 7th round?
