The Rams are still stinging from giving up a 2nd and 3rd rounder for Von Miller, who was in the final year of his contract. Especially after winning the SB, and offering him a giant contract to re-sign, he bolts to Buffalo after they offered him more guaranteed money that the Rams wisely refused to match.
Giving up a 1st for a guy in his final year can easily mean they get a few games from him this year and then.....POOOF! he's gone. The only way that it could happen is if they worked out a new contract before the trade went through.
And I'm not at all sure that Burns is that great of a difference making player to do that for. The problem is, some team like Dallas is going to offer him the moon, even if they may soon regret it.
