I could have been more clear in my post. Obviously, the RB is a huge part of the running game equation.
But a dominant OL is, also. And that Rams OL was truly dominant in that 2nd half. And I don’t think that they’ve fully gelled yet.
So, a decent RB should be expected to have good results behind this OL against a poor run D like the Steelers have. Anything less than 100 yards would be disappointing, imo.
I will say that I like us having Freeman available as an option. So it's not like I'm feeling negative about our backfield but rather it is that same old feeling where I find myself hoping once again, just as I do every season under this regime, that we have enough back there. And maybe this will be one of those years where we do have enough. We'll see.
