The article asks: "Are the Rams just as well off with rookie Zach Evans, Freeman, Gaskin, and Henderson as they were with Williams and Ronnie Rivers?"
It asks for comments in the comment sectiion. I won't patronize such inane drivel in search of clicks with an answer there, but since you asked:
For pity's sake, let Akers go. He's gone. Williams outperformed him by a big margin when he had a big - and last - chance to prove himself.
We're better off with Williams, and Rivers ain't too bad, either.
To ask if the Rams are better off, or just as good, with Evans and Freeman is like asking is it hotter in Texas than it is in the summer. Borderline senseless.
And to the headline's question do running backs matter to the Rams? Yes they do. But not as much as wide receivers.
