The author writes, (and maybe I'm being picky here,) "On a play-to-play basis, Raheem Morris has this group playing levels above where they are talent-wise."
Ahh, no he doesn't. The writer underestimated the talent going in, (and many of us had misgivings,) and the writer seems to base this year, with Pleasant and Lake as assistants, off a skewed view of last year when, outside of Jalen Ramsey, the secondary was woefully undermanned for the last part of the season.
This year Raheem has some able help in the coaching ranks and young but capable talent in the lineup. These players are not playing above their heads or they would have been exposed by now. Instead they're getting better.
The D coaches are getting the job done in developing that young talent and bringing unit level performances into cohesion. As a result the D players are not playing above their talent level, but realizing their potential.
