Taylor for a second round pick is a good trade especially considering that we are so thin at RB. Not sure what the extension would look like but if the cap hit did come till next year this would seem like a reasonable trade.
Williams has 2 drops in the last 2 games that really contributed to the losses. This is disappointing seeing how catching the ball out of the backfield was supposed to be the strong suit of his game. Any hope we have this year will require a new RB or one of the current crop, maybe Evans to break out which just doesn't seem likely.
II would prefer to use a 2nd rounder on a proven player that could possibly transform the offense. If the extension starts next year and we can squeeze cap space for his existing contract this year it seems like a no brainer. Why not solve the problem now? No quarantine we can solve it next year for a 2nd rounder.
