I think I'm one of the few who would happily add Taylor for a 2nd (amd maybe a later pick also) and pay him.
Years 4,5, and 6 with an opt out for the 7th can be the best years of a elite runners career.
Cook. Chubb. Kamara. Mixon. All solid until this year. Chubb was still plowing. Mixon still effective but a little less.
And Taylor plus Williams is the exact dynamic I believe we want.
Paying for the good years is fine with me. He's a weapon. He's the rare power back with track speed.
If it starts looking like the OL is a shambles again, i.e. Jackson and Boom out, then we're better off drafting at RB next year and it won't require a 2nd round pick to get a good back if they change the way they evaluate.
So for me part of the allure of Taylor is that we can't draft that position. The kid who went to Dallas last year in the draft was on the board when we decided to gamble on Evans, who was unreliable in college. Will Les make the necessary changes with his RB evaluation group to fix the problem? Unlikely and it might be McVay who is the problem in that he overvalues speed and gamebreaking ability and undervalues guys who have reliability, power, and can grind yards.
