It looked forcefully intentional to me, and I thought it was for exactly the reason that you stated here:

Trying to pull down a bigger stronger runner is tough for a smallish defender.
I don't why he thought he could get away with it.
He acted like he didn't care at all after the call and walked away almost defiantly. I think they took that into consideration before tossing him.
I like Tre as a player but...It wasn't a smart thing to do IMO. I hope McVay or Morris had a long talk with him about it.
Question, is this any worse than what AD in that Bengals practice last year? I say no. What AD was much worse and nothing happened in that incident.
Does that set a precedence for what it tolerated by McVay?
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
