There's more to view at the edge than the bottom of the canyon. Keep the long view; watch as the team learns, grows, develops strength, carry that forward.
Rams under McVay use their first three games as virtual training camp for the regulars. We know that going in.
We know Seattle and SF will most likely hand us our asses but we need to let them know they've been in a fight. The fans need to focus on how well the Rams fight and sing the fight song to the very end - not the funeral dirge.
The first five games will be the rough end of our schedule. We know that, too, and need to brace ourselves - not wilt or panic. Learn through adversity. Stay strong and leave it all on the field; do not lose heart. That will be the biggest challenge for McVay and Morris, and if he has a voice, the new OC.
On O, the Rams will not foreseeably ever again be playing on offense with third-stringers and couch potatos in 2023. The O is equipped to win some high-scoring shootouts and surprise - shock - a few people, especially as the season progresses.
On D, I'm looking for more PBU's and picks from the secondary, winning more turnover battles per game, even if getting scored upon, and givinf the ball back to an O thata can score - instead of going three and out.
And for all the truckloads of garbage dumped on him here recently, don't forget this: Morris' D didn't give up, didn't lose heart last year. That's something.
We will
not carry a
losing culture tank mentality into 2024. Stafford has negotiated this terrain before. He knows how to lead, how to play football McVay has grown since last year and will continue to grow.
The start will be rough, but we'll win more than some people think by the time it's done.
