So, that was pretty underwhelming. Don't think I'll have as much to say.
The Great
1) A Jackson and Avila next to each other moving people ... that was nice.
2) Davis Allen showing why I had him ranked in the 3-4 round area. Hands, contested catches, and angry with the ball.
3) Hummel. This is the guy I saw on Iowa State putting it together with that crazy athleticism.
The Good
4) Ronnie Rivers looking like he did at Fresno. Quick to the hole, quick to his first move ... balance.
5) Watching Freeman truck someone was just satisfying.
6) I thought Cam McCutcheon had a solid game. Pretty sure we're going to have a DB heavy Practice squad, which I'm fine with.
7) Evans progressing ... he'll learn to not outkick his coverage.
8) Arcuri is looking the part. Like AJ, he started on the left side in the Big Ten for four years.
9) Liked seeing Avila pull. Wasn't expecting that.
10) I think the McCallister kid might be for real, thought the holding call was just bad luck. Like him on the PS for a redshirt year.
11) I like Stetson making mistakes and learning now.
12) I thought Des Johnson was playing with violence.
13) Kobie Turner only popped a couple times, but from what I'm seeing he's put on weight.
14) BB3 made a splash play.
15) Tomlinson was a steal.
16) Rochell sighting.
The Musings
15) McCutcheon and Ingle were basically not on the field. For me this means they want to PS them and don't want to give anyone more tape. If i'm wrong they'll be out there next week.
16) How do you justify keeping Bruss?
17) Robinson and TJ ... who is winning that battle? Sounded like Robinson but the game tape says Johnson. Is it different with Stafford?
18) No snaps for B Young? Is he that ready?
19) No Kyren? He's done that well in practice?
The Bad
20) The D line is not doing well. I'm guessing that the presence of AD will change things ... but how much?
21) I expected more juice out of Hampton.
22) I don't know what my opinion on T Davis is. Seems like his mistakes are greater than his makeups.
Okay that's it ... college starts next week ... no big games yet obviously. The realignment stuff is getting out of hand.
