At RB, I want them to keep Freeman. We NEEEEEEEED a big back that can and does run people over. The guy that has been unimpressive so far is Evans.
Davis at TE looks like a 1st or 2nd round talent. He just knows how to play the position. Big, tall, runs with authority, looking like a great pick. Runs his routes like Gronk; he's such a long strider it doesn't look like he's going very fast....but he is.
No way Noteboom is more than the swing OT. Been saying since OTAs that Jackson needs to start on the Left side, because Noteboom is just one of those guys that cannot stay healthy. I suspect they'll keep Boom for the year but then he's gone for 2024 whether as a trade for a 7th round pick or cut outright. Jackson and Avila are going to be our left side tandem for the foreseeable future.
Bruss is in trouble. If you can't stay healthy, you can't develop.
One guy they cannot let go on the Oline is Thomas. Enjoy watching him play.
Bennet is about as good right now as any 1st round QB drafted this year except for Richardson. Of course he's not ready to start right now. None of them are. But, out of necessity, some will.
I do suspect that the Rams will be looking at DT and OLB with the cuts coming up. But....ONLY on the cheap and ONLY if someone can help right now. Otherwise I think they are going to be content with letting the young guys grow and develop over the season.
After watching our DBs, I sure hope the plan is to let these guys man up and play close and not this huge cushion style of zone they have been doing. You can see how these young guys want to be aggressive and they have the skills to do it. Besides, without much of a pass rush, an offense is going to be able to methodically pass their way downfield if they play soft zone.
I think this CB McCutcheon has a chance to make it. Like his size and his aggressiveness. I don't think Rochell can be more than a 4th CB. Don't know what the issue is, but he just doesn't play well or with any consistency.
