I would like to offer a very few different takes, if I may.
WR. I see Rams keeping 6 and here’s my projected pecking order:
Kupp
Jefferson
Atwell, Nacua, Robinson in an evolving rotation.
Skowronek
So, in my version, Skow is a 6th WR in a very strong WR room.
TE. Long is gonna have to somehow really impress these coaches late in camp to even make the 53. I, too, am impressed with Higbee, Hopkins, and Allen but do think Rams would love to have a 4th capable TE if only for injury insurance to maintain their ability to run effective 12 sets.
OL. No major disagreements. I’m still not sure who Rams are gonna start at OC but I’m gonna trust them. My preference is Shelton but one positive of Allen starting (until the inevitable injury) is that then Shelton could be available at RG. Anchrum didn’t impress me vs Raiders and now I’m wondering about him. Zach Thomas makes the 53 over Bruss if I’m calling the shots. I think he’s earned it. PUP or IR Bruss if they don’t have the guts to cut him.
DL. I wish I could share your optimism about our DL but I just can’t. Yeah, AD will make a big difference but I’m afraid that we don’t have the horses beyond AD. Doubt that there’s any significant affordable vet help out there anymore that Snead could bring in, either. Snead misjudged his current talent level and was overly optimistic about the guys drafted, I think.
Edge. We’re in 100% agreement here. Only reason I’m mentioning it is to reinforce my gut feeling that Snead must pull a rabbit out of his hat here with a journeyman vet type just to help shore up our weakest area.
Again, wonderful post and one that I 90% agree with.
