most of those chunk plays on short passes were on him
Here’s an excerpt from a Stuter article I posted today.
The LA Rams roster is extremely competitive right now. So the chances of second-year inside linebacker Jake Hummel making the Rams roster may not be up to his liking. But don't tell him that. You see, the 6-foot-1 235-pound defender is attacking this year's preseason like a man on a mission.
That mission is to earn a role on the Rams' defense for the 2023 NFL season. So far, on my scorecard, that is exactly what he is doing. Not just doing, but blowing away the competition. With a preseason with a lack of resolve, Jake Hummel has been a dependable playmaker for the LA Rams' defense. And you can bet that the Rams coaching staff notices.
While that was a phenomenal play, it was just the icing on the cake for the dependable Hummel. Youi see, of two preseason games, Hummel has already piled up nine tackles and an interception. The only player who has more tackles in two preseason games is defensive back Jordan Jones, who has ten tackles in two preseason games for the Rams so far.
