The Rams have a perspective that I totally agree with.
Use your most valuable chip to trade for a proven talent at the NFL level.
From then on, consider ever guy you pick as a developmental player, just at different rates.
And, with the hard cap, you have to be able to pay a few stars tons of money, and let new guys come in at cheap prices to develop and play.
The Rams are developing guys. If the player has the talent and want-to, and the Rams staff does a good job, then a couple of seasons down the line you ought to have a good starting player. That seems to be happening.
Their formula is a few stars, and a whole bunch of decent to good players who are well trained and proficient.
