Wasn't this discussed a month ago and I believe it was MamaRam that produced an article where the late Bernie Mikalaz was involved in keeping Martzs secret about Kurt?
or am I high ????
Maybe 2k was high from all that California Wacky Tobacky and couldn't remember!!! Isn't everyone in Cali high???
Just messing with you 2k!!!
Seriously though, from what I can remember, it was pretty well known that there was a "riff" between Kurt and the Rams. Mostly with Martz but it was so bad it included the FO and local radio celebs too.
Then there was the whole "Brenda gate" thing that pushed KW over the edge. In the end, I think there were multiple things that KW was/is pissed about to this very day which is odd for such a forgiving man like Kurt Warner.
I will always treasure those memories with KW. His was a special player and was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.
I remember him being very passive and lacking confidence prior to and at the beginning of his Ram tenure. If Green doesn't get injured when he did, I am not sure KW ever gets a shot as a starter in the NFL.
The Rams, Vermeil and Martz are largely responsible for his getting his chance, being coached by an "offensive genius" and surrounded by by HOF talent.
IMO, without the Rams, there would be no Kurt Warner Story. The Cards had nothing to do with it.
If I also remember correctly the Cards didn't bring in KW thinking he was going to be "KW" of old again, they brought him in as a QB2 on the cheap.
Anyway, as I said many times. I love me some KW and I don;t want it to seem like I am bashing the guy. I just think he could be more loyal to the franchise that made him what he is today...a HOF'er. He became a HOF'er based mostly on his time with the GSOT, not from playing with Cards.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
