Pass rushers have to win, but also defensive backs need to identify route concepts early. Apparently the rookie from TCU is very good at that. QBs hesitate if defensive backs can jump routes.
Maybe those 8-10 yard cushions will help them identify route concepts easier.
I am hoping this kid is good at that too because that is exactly what we need IMO. We need some players who can identify and react very quickly so they can maybe get some INT's and make the QB's think twice before making the throw as you said!
Who was the last "ball hawk" that we had back there? It's time for someone to fill that role and I think this kid might have a shot!
We also need a heavy hitter too now that Scott is gone. This defense sure could use some toughness!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
