IMO it's the worst form of cheating. How can you follow a team that loses on purpose, losing is the worst thing in sports. Fans hate it, players hate it, owners won't stand for it......If a team is willing to lose games for any reason what kind of fan base are they building?
On top of all that look at what you would need to have that happen....you'd need all the players on board, if you had players against it how would you satisfy them to stand quiet? You'd need to have your staff involved 100% as well or you'd have sideline circus shows. What about your conditioning group, would they fake injuries, cause injuries?
The RAMS tank I'm gone, and maybe from Pro ball all together.
This team needs to try as hard as they can, get camaraderie going( how do you do that losing on purpose?). This team needs to tough it out, play to win...they will lose games, but if they lose because they want to, how does that build character?
I'm a firm believer in that you can't turn winning and or losing on and off like a tap.
IMO tanking is BS, made up by bettors/media....excuses maybe...but if it's real it will destroy the game.
