Re:camp competiton

The Rams drafted Daniel Hardy (I know... Montana homeboy) last year and I'm curious: will Young be a shoo-in or will Hardy give him some competiton?

At this point Hardy is a virtual rookie who has more scheme knowledge and unless it's slipped, a ton of motivation. Young has better tape against higher level competition and was probably better coached.

I'd like to see a solid starter emerge, and a rotation that could keep fresh legs on the field wouldn't be bad either. Edge can be an exhausting position. Two young, strong, and aggressive edge rushers splitting the duty could wear down a tackle, especially late in the game. I'm curious to see what breaks, and whether Morris will have enough chess pieces on the board to modify his strategies by building around the skills of his players.

Funny thing, in 2021 Morris all-of-a-sudden was acclaimed as a brilliant coach when Von Miller showed up, and the secondary all-if-a-sudden played better. I hope we get to see that sort of phenomena again in '23 with revitalized edge play - from whomever.

Let the camp and preseason competition begin.

One factor is that McVay hired a new OLB coach in Joe Coniglio…
