McVay, at least McVay but perhaps others in the war room, saw Bennett as a potential #1.... NOT as a predestined career long #2. I don't think they take him otherwise. And obviously I do not mean this coming season.

Goes without saying that there is no certainty in a drafted QB.... so the war room didn't bet the future on him but that doesn't mean they don't see him as somewhat likely to become a #1.
