...from the outside looking in I don't really blame him having that assessment. The starting 5 he lists has a LT coming off an Achilles tear, a rookie LG, a center that has missed 34 of their last 57 regular season games, and basically a rookie RG. The only steady presence where you know what you have is Havenstein. You're not going to rank that unit very high...
Now of course personally I think Jackson will be the LT (and be good), Avila will be solid from the get-go and that Shelton is more likely to be the starting center.
The OL is very much a work in progress. I like the makeup overall of their 10 likely roster candidates. But there will be a lot to figure out along the way and some growth that has to happen.
I also like the new OL coach Wendell quite a bit and think he'll have a positive impact.
