Kurt couldn't understand why he was being overlooked. Said his size and age likely pushed him down, but felt his play was among the top 3 last year. And he broke down tape from the Ohio State game and had a lot of good things to say about Stetson.
More importantly, this is the guy the Rams -- and presumably McVay -- wanted. It's not like they settled for their third choice after two QBs got taken right in front of them. Stetson is the guy they targeted, so even if it was a round or two earlier than most expected, they got the guy they wanted. Let's see what they can do with him.
As a side note, I recall Snead saying something in an interview afterwards about how Drew Brees was able to succeed because he had two huge guards in front of him that always allowed him to step up in the pocket. Now, it's always hard to decipher Sneadism, which is often rambling and incoherent, but presumably he was suggesting that Steve Avila would be a huge help to the smaller Stetson. But does that statement suggest that... they see Bennett as a potential long-term answer at QB?
Here's Kurt on Bennett.
