I think that's right. It works for a short time. But I liked the "works" part

Rams can't draft so they decided to trade picks for established players......that only works for a very short time as we are seeing

And I know you do, too.

It's great to have near perfection but other than a couple of teams, Rams have done well since McVay
came to Rams.

Could drafting have been better?

Of course.

But they now have to draft a bit more for need because they gambled and won.
And now it is time to pay the piper.

So, where I disagree is if you can trade down say, 5-6-7 spots
and pick up a 4th, it's smart as long as the quality is the same
at 42-45 or so as it is at 36.

If it is, trade down, take the 4th, 15% of NFL starters in 2022 are
from the 4th round or below.

But, if there is a McDonald there, or someone else who is
1st round quality, say a guy who is a top 20 player who drops
to 36, then take that guy.

Getting locked into one thing is not a good thing.

Also, when you say Rams can't drafty, okay, but remember Holmes
the guy making the comment has some responsibility for that.

I think he agree--cannot F them picks for even, can only work
a short time.

I like how it worked though, and am willing to have a down year
while they rebuild...

the ring is the thing.

had enough of the bridesmaid stuff in the 1970s and 80s
