Hoecht IMO is a lock and so is Durant.

I think Fuller is also a lock to start at one of the safeties.

I could be wrong, but I think the Coaching staff probably has it to 2-3 openings based upon how they project some of the youngsters (Lake, Hardy, Yeast, Bobby Brown III, etc.).

Respectfully disagree here, stlramz.

The players you mention are ‘probables’ to start, but mostly because Rams lack the resources to upgrade from them as starters. But none are locks other than AD and Jones, at least in my opinion.

It all depends on which direction Snead goes on his picks through the 5th round or so. When he runs out of picks then Rams have to ‘settle’ at remaining positions until 2024. Sigh…

Grading very objectively, there are 9. That’s right, 9. Only locks to start in ‘23 are AD and Jones, don’t you think? The remaining 9 could be upgraded rather easily with a Day 2 pick that falls.

All 9 have holes in their game and/or question marks.

Kinda sobering when looked at in this way, isn’t it?

Sad to say, but there it is, y’all.

There will inevitably be new faces on our starting D this year. Only question is how many?

So, technically, how many ‘openings’ on Rams D roster are there?
