As a fan I'm not sure what we have right now for OL, who'll step up, who has matured enough to play a bigger role. But still - we need OL help, a future TE who can earn some playing time, maybe an edge (how will last year's draftees look in 23?, DB's and DT's.
LIke JY53 said in an earlier post, play with the toys you have. With solid support through free agency, trades (Les ain't done, yet) and maybe a starter from the draft, our skill players should do fine.
MY 'druthers, once the above-mentioned needs are addressed, would be for a back that can plow mud at the LOS, break tackles, move laterally while still headed downhill, and has a straight-arm.
Forgot the guy's name already but I posted about a back in this year's draft who won't run away from people at the next level but who can get the tough yardage that we've been missing since we had Harold Jackson. (Gurley needed a hole and then he'd be gone - but he couldn't make one.)
This back whose tape I commented on is not in Jackson's category by any means, but appears to have what it takes to be a tough yardage and OK receiver back - which is what we need. Not sure how he pass-protects.
That said, I don't care if we don't get ANY backs in this year's draft. Or wideouts either.
