The play before that Merlin Olsen has sacked Staubach and the Rams took Olsen out and brought in an extra Linebacker in Bob Stein. Not Ray's finest hour, however, he learned from that experience because when he was Head Coach in 79 the Rams beat the Cowboys by employing a 4-7 defense that frustrated Staubach right into retirement.
