I'm not sure what the Rams would have had in 2022 if everyone had remained healthy but I don't think a top-5 scoring team was within their reach.
In 2021 - their Super Bowl season - they were 8th in the league in scoring. In the offseason the offense added Allen Robinson, Logan Bruss, Kyren Williams, and AJ Arcuri while they lost Robert Woods, Andrew Whitworth, Sony Michel, Austin Corbett, and Johnny Mundt. I don't know about you, but that doesn't scream "the Rams are going to score more points in 2022' to me.
I don't know what the Rams plan on doing to upgrade the offense, but there are 9 positions that could potentially be upgraded: everyone but Kupp and Stafford.
For instance ...
Get a WR2 that pushed Robinson to WR3. That upgrades 2 positions.
Get a workhorse RB that can at least share the load with Akers and push Williams to 3rd down/change of pace back. That upgrades 2 (or 3?) positions.
Get a TE1 that pushes Higbee to TE2. That upgrades 2 positions.
Get a couple OL that are good enough to make the starting 5. That upgrades the starting OL and probably everyone from the 6th man on down.
I don't think they can do all that in one season. But I bet most (if not all) of that happens before the 2024 season starts.
