Yes, we've had a pretty good ride. No, I don't think we are doomed. But McVay has his work cut out for him.
There's a lot of off-season left, but we've been creating holes so far. I'm dubious to what seems to be the plan to fill them. The draft? As we all know, McVay is reluctant to start rookies, so is that the plan now? I don't think we're going to be high end FA shopping, so it seems we're going to fill these voids with low end FA signings.
And the "good" news that we're getting Note and others back from injury on the O line left me less than excited. If he's our starting LT, it's gonna be another slow start for this O again.
I get we don't want to sit here clutching our pearls in March, but it's hard to see how well we're going to do putting this team together with scraps on the table. Just because the team played better toward the end of the season, when no one was taking us seriously at all, doesn't mean these fill-ins were all-stars.
Yes, in McVay I trust. Snead, not so much. He's always been better at bringing high end players in than drafting, and for a year that we seem to be relying on that draft, my confidence is not high. I wish we had more than faith and singing the oldies to bank on.
