I think the players do like and respect Morris. However, us Ram fans have been frustrated by the soft zone defense he continues to play. I'm sure if he had more talent on the backend of this defense, he would not play this soft zone.
He's a genuinely likable dude. He has "charisma". Treats his players with respect and seems to be a good communicator too. I don't think anyone here would disagree about any of that.
It's the Ultra Soft Zone that he runs that gets him heat on here, in the media and the internet.
Maybe Kupp should give the Colts (and the other teams too) a call to put in a good word for Morris. Maybe that will get him a HC job somewhere? lol
Unfortunately for Morris, it takes more than just being a "likable" person to be a successful HC in the NFL and I think there obviously must be some "other" reason he gets virtually no interest from anyone year after year.
That lack of interest has to even make his biggest supporters ask "why"?
Other organizations apparently see "other" issues with Morris. Since everyone agrees he's likable, it must be something with his coaching that the other Organizations just aren't impressed with or confident enough that he could be a HC.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
