I love these draft posts all too much!! I guess that I got into the draft because the Rams were often non-contenders! Anyway I really appreciate reading over yours, Deapools and others who post draft stuff on the board here, so thank you.
My question to you and other draft gurus.... I like many here wanted Creed Humphrey so badly (would have accepted Josh Myers, Quinn Meinerz or Landon Dickerson).
Before that it was Cesar Ruiz or Tyler Biadasz (still my favourite name - and I love the C rollout back block he put on Bosa!!)
I fell in love with the Rams as a kid in the 80's and those OL's that were anchored by doug smith etc. A strong C (and powerful OL) is almost a pride thing about my team. I still remember getting excited when my monthly NFL magazine (in the UK) draft edition came through back in the 90's and the Rams had chosen Bern Brostek, C Washington Huskies. He was big and nasty .......but also had a congenital back issue and never panned out as hoped.... I still loved the fact they tookl these big bad boys!!
BUT now I hate the fact that the blooming 49ers can beat up our OL. I would love for nothing more that having an OL and in particular a C that can give it to them better than they can give it. I would LOVE a big nsty C to head off down field looking to down right embarrass their ILB especially punk boy Warner.
This year I dream of John Michael Schmit.
But listening to our draft gurus (and playing a whole load of draft sim's) the value seems to lye with an Edge/CB. Which means Schmit will be gone before they pick again.
So how do you see the other Centers in this draft, in particular Joe Tippman, Luke Wypler and Avila??
